Brady Gunn named Fort Worth Christian Head Football Coach

Change is afoot in North Richland Hills, Texas to begin the new year. After a strong season that
resulted in a TAPPS Division II semifinal appearance for the Fort Worth Christian Cardinals, Head Coach Nate Sanford has transitioned to an Athletic Director position. The Cardinals’ 2022 season
featured exciting playoff wins against both Midland Christian and Bishop Dunne in addition to
strong regular season performances, which included a victory over the eventual TAPPS Division III Champion Dallas Christian Chargers. The Cardinals have chosen to stay in-house with their next hire,
elevating Coach Brady Gunn to be Fort Worth Christian’s next head coach. During his two
separate stints at Fort Worth Christian, Gunn has accumulated fourteen years of service at the
school and brings experience as both an offensive and defensive coordinator. Coach Gunn has also previously served on staffs within the Dallas/Fort Worth area including Bishop Lynch and Southwest Christian and has been a part of numerous postseason teams during his coaching career.

A graduate of Stephenville High School where he played under future Baylor and Houston
head Coach Art Briles, Gunn took his talents to the next level where he played football at both
the United States Naval Academy and Abilene Christian University. Coach Gunn demonstrates
an appealing resume with impressive experience with respect to both playing and coaching; Head of school Dr. Misty Overman said “the future of Fort Worth Christian football is in great hands . . . We are excited for what’s next for Fort Worth Christian athletics.” Looking towards the 2023 season, Gunn will rely on senior linebacker and defensive lineman Bryce Bradley and defensive back Ean Baur to build
on their 8-4 record and help lead the Cardinals to a TAPPS Division II Championship.
