Nettles, Warren Lead a Massive day in TXPS Recruiting – TXPS Recruiting Round-Up (1/19/23)

If anyone ever tries to tell you that there isn’t elite talent in private schools, they’re lying.

Yesterday was one of the biggest days in recuiting I’ve ever seen in the TXPS world. You had UNLV making a sweep across the state, William (Speedy) Nettles and Bennett Warren recieving every offer you can possibly think of, and so so much more. We’ve been saying for a while that this is the most young talent that private schools have had in a long time, and it’s beginning to come to fruition.

So let’s analyze, shall we?

’24 OT Bennett Warren

Bennett Warren is proving to be one of, if not the gem in the 2024 class. The size is elite at 6’8, 310, and the tape backs it up. Since the new year, Warren has received 5 Division one offers, from the likes of Tulane, Oklahoma, Texas A&M, Florida State and Tennesse. Per 247, this brings his total offers to 15, including Texas Tech, Oklahoma State, TCU and others.

Warren has been an integral piece of this state champion FBCA team, and still has another season to display his dominance over opposing defensive lines. Keep an eye on the kid, as I don’t think we’ve seen the last of his big offers.

’24 ATH William (Speedy) Nettles

Speedy Nettles is far and away the most touted DIII recruit in 2025, and makes a case for that of all of TAPPS. As I was typing this, he picked up anothe DI offer from Houston, bringing his total to 16, five of which have come in the last three days. Those being Utah State, Boston College, Indiana, Purdue and Houston, as mentioned.

Nettles raw speed, and football IQ make him a highly coveted prospect in this class, and is without question one of the more underrated guys in the state. With another year remaining for him in high school ball, he will have ample opprotunity to boost his stock through the ceiling.
